Another inspirational movie; the biographie of Yves Saint Laurent directed by Jalil Lespert from 2014 with Pierre Niney as main actor (César for the Best Actor).
The film is based on the life of the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent from 1958. In 1957, at just 21 years, Yves Saint Laurent is propelled to the artistic direction of the house Christian Dior. The young creator presents his first collection, “Trapèze”, during a triumphal procession where he meets Pierre Bergé, who becomes his lover. A success that allows him to found his own home with the help of his companion, but which also opens the door to great anguish. The 1970s are those of consecration, but also of excesses that begin to damage the health of the creator. Subject to bouts of depression, Saint Laurent takes refuge in work, designing collections that mark the history of fashion.
