McLaren Excell Transforms London Office Space into a Family Home<\/h3>\n

Design studio McLaren Excell recent project includes converting\u00a0london office space into a minimal family home by swapping the entire space layout.\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

London-based studio McLaren Excell<\/strong><\/em> <\/a>is an award winning architecture and interiors firm lead by Luke McLaren<\/strong><\/em> and Robert Excell<\/strong><\/em>. Their practice has taken on a diverse range of work, steadily building a reputation for designing spaces\u00a0where innovation and passion for design<\/strong> <\/em>is the main foundation.<\/p>\n

Recently the studio redesigned a former west London office using white ribbed paneling, smoked – oak furniture<\/strong> <\/em>and marble bathrooms<\/strong><\/em><\/a> to create a stunning, minimal family home<\/strong><\/em>. The designers managed to convert the two-store\u00a0Rylett Crescent<\/strong><\/em> building in London’s Sheperds Bush into a four-bedroom residence, placing the living areas in the light-filled, double-height first floor, and the bedrooms on the ground floor.<\/p>\n

\"McLaren<\/p>\n

In order to do that, the architects swapped the conventional layout of the living spaces. The walls and ceilings were all covered in white, and lined with white painted paneling, covering the windows that run along the space.<\/p>\n

\"McLaren<\/p>\n

In order to add a sense of movement and continuity throughout the interior design <\/strong><\/em>, bookshelves were built into walls and doorways in the adjacent of the living spaces.<\/p>\n

The living, kitchen and dining room area occupies a\u00a012-meter-long room\u00a0on first floor, and was designed to have an open-plan layout which is topped by a continuous glazed roof light and windows that enable great source of natural lighting<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

This interior design<\/strong><\/em> project by McLaren Excell<\/strong><\/em> also includes a roof terrace that is easily accessed from the lounge area by a set of sliding doors.<\/p>\n

Within the bathroom design<\/strong> <\/a>\u00a0<\/em>one can find\u00a0white marble walls and bathtubs that are complemented by a mix of dark wood and mirror-clad cabinets.<\/p>\n
