What do have in common a fashion brand and various interior designer renowned all over the world for their capability to execute artistic pieces of furniture? But an imaginative and eccentric collection in which modern art and interior design merge together to create unusual furniture pieces, reflecting the artistic soul of the brand. The Object Nomades Collection by internationally acclaimed fashion brand Louis Vuitton has presented – during Salone del Mobile 2019 – new pieces to add to the elusive collection. Since its debut in 2012, which has marked the start of the collaborations, the Objets Nomades Collection by Louis Vuitton has explored – through diverse eyes and perspectives – the travelling inspiration that comes from different perceptions: the result is forty-five unconventional pieces that are an evident reference to the exploration theme that the fashion house had already promoted with the iconic Bed Trunk for French explorer Pierre Savorgnan de Brazza in 1874. THE OBJETS NOMADES COLLECTION BY LOUIS VUITTON
The creativity behind the limited-edition furniture pieces has been displayed by the designers’ ability to create extremely unconventional high-crafted products that appear, at the same time, particularly functional – thanks to the savoir-faire and craftsmanship of the house’s artisans. The ethereal yet colorful attitude of the Object Nomades Collection manages to represent Louis Vuitton’s personality. Barber&Osgerby, André Fu, Damien Langlois-Meurinne, Nendo, Gwenaël Nicolas, Raw Edges, Patricia Urquiola, India Mahdavi, and Tokujin Yoshioka are some of the already known chosen designers; this year two new name had been added to the collection: Atelier Biagetti and Zanellato/Bortotto.
Atelier Biagetti, known for their reconstructive approach toward everyday products and their functionality, presented Anemona, a fiberglass table with a yellow-leather interior visible through the clear glass top: the contrast between the popping bright yellow color with the base’s metallic paint is a tribute to the Adriatic Sea near the city of Ravenna and a reminiscence of the La Scala Opera House’s fabulous costumes.
The other new entry among THE OBJETS NOMADES COLLECTION BY LOUIS VUITTON is represented by Italian brand Zanellato/Bortotto and its Mandala screen; the high level of craftsmanship recreates a metal and leather offering to the beauty of the Venetian lagoon: the object displays a revival of the Monogram Flower motif of Louis Vuitton with an exotic soft-colored mandala-inspired pattern.
New selections have been added to the pre-existent collection by the other designers: Marcel Wanders designed the Diamond Chair and Sofa – showing an intertwined rich-colored leather straps forming the bases; the Venezia lamp, inspired by the traditional Venetian lanterns; the Diamond Vase, a tribute to the internationally known Murano glass supported by colored leather straps.
The Bulbo chair – presented by Campana Brothers – brings to THE OBJETS NOMADES COLLECTION BY LOUIS VUITTON a tropical feel with a flamboyant-colored cocoon-like seat resembling a disclosing flower.
