Why Millennial Pink Is Not the Favorite Color Trend Anymore<\/h3>\n

If you thought Millennial Pink was the ultimate favorite color trend for millennials, today you will be disappointed.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

When talking about Millennials we often talk about this bright, fun shade called Millennial Pink<\/strong><\/em> and expect to define an entire generation basing on\u00a0such a simple\u00a0color trend. Yet after some research conducted in celebration of the National Painting Week<\/strong><\/em> between Sherwin Williams<\/strong><\/em> and Harris Poll<\/strong><\/em>, the result was truly the opposite of what\u00a0everyone\u00a0was expecting.<\/p>\n

To find out American’s color preferences, 2200 people over the age of 18 were questioned, and it was discovered that Black and Blue\u00a0were the ultimate favorites for all ages. A chock right?<\/p>\n

According to design<\/strong><\/em> psychologist Sally Augustin\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>the reason behind such preference might be towards the stressful world we are living in today.\u00a0“There are a lot of stressful things going on in the world, so it isn’t a shock that millennials gravitate towards darker colors,”she says.\u00a0 Though she adds”black still has plenty of positive associations, like sophistication, elegance, and formality.”<\/p>\n

In the interior design<\/strong><\/em> industry is often a challenge to incorporate black into decor without making it feel heavy-handed. According to Augustin, it all depends on where you use it, you should opt out for darkest colors at your feet and lightest shades overhead.<\/p>\n

A great strategy is to paint concrete or hardwood floors black to create a\u00a0minimalist and welcoming design<\/strong><\/em>.\u00a0Creating this marriage between dark floors and white walls will allow the space a sense of movement and fluidity.<\/p>\n

Augustin also explains that whatever your favorite color is, you should use it in your home decor and design. It will help you create a space of your own, within your own tastes and standards, therefore is great for your mental health and overall well being.<\/p>\n
