Avenue Road ‘s New York Showroom Designed as Luxury Apartment

Curator Stephan Weishaupt designed Avenue Road ‘s new showroom in a luxurious yet cozy design concept.

Design studio Avenue Road‘s showroom in New York was designed by curator Stephan Weishaupt. It opened in May 2017  as a luxury apartment to showcase high-end and limited edition furniture to help introduce the European design talent to the US market.

And it definitely worked. Now the concept represents designers and studios on both sides of the Atlantic.

The 5,000-square-foot showroom is a spacious one-bedroom apartment, filled with furniture, unique lighting and artwork. It was designed to provide a comfortable feel for visitors even though everything – from furnishing to bathroom tiles – is available for purchase.

The moment visitors step away from the elevator, they find a copper-accented kitchen design by Bruno Moinard, and a dining area in one side of the room that is big enough to host large dinners and cocktail events.

On the other side, a bedroom, bathroom and library round off in a large living room space where a giant sofa faces an elegant fireplace.

Avenue Road‘s showroom also includes not only the works of high-end brands such as Yabu Pushelberg, Sebastian Herkener but also exclusive lines from Cristophe Delcourt and Van Rossum.

Architectural lighting by Porsche Design Studio and Textiles from Raf Simons are also incorporated into the interior design.

Twice a year, the showroom will be improved to present new furniture designs.

According to  Stephan Weishaupt  the Avenue Road 8A is meant to provide a more personal view of the brand’s collections.

“It’s a total concept environment that shows how far they can take the design from furniture to bespoke kitchens and architectural products,”
