BIOGRAPHY
In 1981, Peter Pennoyer received a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Columbia College and in 1984 a Masters of Architecture from Columbia Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation.

MUSEUM MILE APARTMENT
This apartment renovation celebrates the grand scale of existing characteristics. Peter Pennoyer Architects design increases these details and makes the various proportions and orientations of the rooms relate through a program of moldings and paneling. Katie Ridder’s decoration gives a boost to these traditional spaces.
This award winning firm, known by their international practice in traditional and classical architecture, or New Classical Architecture, had been featured twice in the Architectural Digest Top 100 World’s Architects.
LIMESTONE MANSION
Peter Pennoyer Architects was responsible for re-establishing the interior architecture of this six-story, 18.000 square foot house. The formal street façade set the tone of the succession of Beaux-Arts rooms, extensive stonework and ironwork within, whose distilled forms embody the sensuality of New York’s eclectic period at the turn of the 20th century. Throughout, the new interiors decorated by Shaun Jackson capture the exuberance and elegance of the Beaux-Arts style.
HOUSE IN CARMEL VALLEY
Set in the hills of a vast land conservation-driven development east of Carmel, California, this new house in the rustic style was designed in its massing and materials to blend with its context — a varied landscape of woodlands, savannas and grasslands. Peter Pennoyer Architects used harvested teak, copper, and natural plaster to form the basis of the naturalistic palette of the house, with spectacular views of the Santa Lucia mountains.
