Pure’s Office Space Designed to Have a Cozy Home Feeling
Pure Office space by Sílvia Rocio, Mariana Póvoa and Esse Studio was designed to have a cozy, flexible atmosphere where curtains separate the different divisions.
The Lisbon-based trio Sílvia Rocio, Mariana Póvoa and Esse Studio designed an office space for the mobile dating app – Pure – using curtains, patterned tiles and stunning pendant lighting.
Located in Lisbon, the homely office was meant to match the tech startup’s personality and vision as “the hook-up app for awesome people”, having a cozy atmosphere and lounge areas where workers can relax.
The architects opt to use curtains, allowing the office design to partition different zones, including a workspace with a long table, a smaller meeting room with a circular desk for Skype calls, the lounge and a kitchenette.
The space has plenty of flexibility, as the curtains can be drawn to separate the different divisions, pulled back to create an open plan space, or closed into ruched bundles that only partially separate each area.
The 60 square-meter office is located on the ground floor of mixed-use building called Entrecampos on Avenida das Forças Armadas, and is described by a comfortable home feeling design.
In its interior design one can find the color of drapes serving as the main pallet. The designers Rocio, Póvoa and Esse Studio described it as “gold” to reference the hue of the building’s window frames. These golden tones were used throughout the space and contrasted with black and white details that are intended to reference Pure’s monochrome logo.
The kitchen and the bathroom design consist of white floor tiles pattern with geometric black lines for a sense of fluidity. The kitchen also features a tall wooden cabinet that hides a structural beam, a wooden dining counter and three black stools.
The office design includes other monochrome details such as pendant lights from the Bouroullec Brothers that were placed above the two desks and chairs.
To make the space feel larger, a big window is covered with mirrors to reflect the garden landscapes.
