Recently they accepted the challenge of designing the brand new Rchmnd clothing boutique store in their hometown, Halifax, and, standing up for their simplistic beliefs, the designers added a minimal, all-white interior design to it.

The store is located on a narrow ground floor space in the city’s historic Granville block, also known as the city’s cultural hub. The concept chosen for its interior design not only pays homage to the neighborhood’s architectural styles, but also conveys the fashion brand’s pared-black signature.

Omar Ghandi Architects opt out for oversized moldings and a temple-like door way to create a fine combination between traditional and modern design.

From the outside, glazing frames products displayed on white millwork – giving visitors the impression of a minimal, monochromatic space.

Along the walls, recessed cavities are placed to enable some space to hang clothing or place shelves. To separate the spaces the designers opt out for shallow partitions.

Double-tiered moldings are displayed along the ceiling to create a sense of movement and flow. Benches are displayed and the open archway follows the same axis as the glazed entrance. A mirror was placed on the rear wall to provide the illusion of an extended space.
